It's that time of year! Time to draw my 2012 Christmas Elf! Yeah! Every year I draw at least one picture of my original design Christmas Elf. Usually most of her costume stays fairly consistant but depending on my inspiration or mood I may make a few modifications. I hope that she turns out well this year.

I've been watching Gurren Lagann again lately (which is a great anime series if you haven't seen it before) and I was inspired to draw a mash-up that will bring together two bad-ass anime heroines who wear hotpants. Yoko from Gurren Lagann and Faye Valentine from Coyboy Beebop. I'm also thinking of trying to add in the two cute animal mascots from those series as well for this mash-up. I can't wait to get started on this one.

Within my gallery there are a couple of examples of an original character named Elizabeth that I have been developing over the past few years. Now she's going to get a 2012 make-over and if my pencil sketch is any indication this new version is going to be darker and sexier than ever before! Here's hoping that the final version trurns out well.

Once again I'm showing my age by saying that I used to rush home from after finishing my paper route as a child to watch Robotech on TV. It was one of my all time favorite anime series and it was without a doubt the reason why I am still a huge anime fan as an adult. The project that I'll be working on next is a large (14" x 17") Lisa Hayes tribute. I'm planning on drawing 3 distinct Lisa Hayes images (officer uniform, space suit and bust) with perhaps a couple of Veritech fighters thrown in for shits and giggles.

I'm really looking forward to getting this project done and posted for my new friends in the Anine groups that I've joined. I just hope that some of the members are old enough to remember Robotech.

For my next project I'm going to work on creating a Poison Ivy fan art. Poison Ivy is my favorite female villian from the Batman universe and I'm going to try to draw her in a victory pose looking down on her latest unfortunate victim Batgirl. It will be a good challenge to work on this one especially if I can get Ivy and Batgirl interacting well in the same drawing. I hope it turns out ok.
